Uncle Sam Tax Credit for Custom Golf Cars Ends December 31

Prestige Custom Golf Cars of Branson West announces that right now is the time to buy if you’ve ever considered purchasing a low speed vehicle.  Time is running out to take advantage of a rare tax credit of up to $5,300 when you purchase a brand new custom golf car.  Stop in before Christmas to check out our qualifying selection.  After December 31, the tax credit is gone.

According to IRS public notice 2009-54, this tax credit was designed to benefit purchasers of New Qualified Plug-in Electric Vehicles, which include low-speed vehicles, passenger vehicles, and light trucks.  Prestige Custom Golf Cars has several “Low Speed Vehicle” (LSV) models that qualify.  In order to meet all IRS guidelines for this car classification, these vehicles are fully street legal, capable of speeds up to 25 miles per hour.  Equipped with seat belts, turn signals, windshield wipers, and headlights, these golf cars can be used on public streets with posted speed limits of up to 35 mph.  Traditional “off-road” and modified golf cars do not qualify for this tax credit.  These cars must come factory equipped with the LSV features.

To qualify, the vehicle must be acquired for use or lease and not for resale.  Additionally, the original use of the vehicle must commence with the taxpayer and the vehicle must be used predominantly in the United States.
